Camrock youth mtb club

We strive to:

  1. Provide juniors who have the desire to mountain bike with the coaching and camaraderie that will help them achieve both competitive and non-competitive cross-country mountain biking goals in a safe and enjoyable manner

  2. Develop an awareness of what it is to be an amateur athlete that is both gracious and respectful to their community

  3. Create an environment in which they may discover new friendships and find role models

  4. Guide junior towards learning new skills and disciplines, and spread the foundations of mountain bike racing across the U.S.

  5. Foster a responsible attitude toward the use of trails and wilderness;

  6. Promote the value of cycling to our community as a mode of transportation and as a life-long sport.

ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: 
All youth that can currently ride a bike and are interested in learning to mountain bike. Based on participation, potential groups are:
      8 and Under boys and girls (U8)
      12 and Under boys and girls (U12)
      14 and Under boys and girls (U14)
      19 and Under boys and girls (U19)

EQUIPMENT:
All riders are responsible to provide their own bikes and a helmet. Helmets must be worn at all times while riding.

WHERE:
Camrock Café and Sports
217 West Main Street, Cambridge, WI

WHEN:
Informational Meeting: April 26 @ 6:30pm
Practice starting May 3 @ 6p and will running for 8 weeks

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Age Appropriate Skill Development focused on fun and a sense of play
  • Teamwork
  • Basic Bicycle Maintenance Instruction
  • Proper Bicycle Set-up Instruction
  • Race Coaching – for the beginner to the experienced rider (ex – 1st timers what to expect / Advanced – how to plan tactics based on course)
  • Discussions on cycling as a healthy form of transportation and a life-long sport

COSTS AND FEES:
Participation Fee: $30  
All Riders 16 and older must have a Dane County Parks Trail Pass – Annual = $16
